As an employee of Sybase, I'm always surprised that folks I meet in my daya to day technical job & travels, still only think of Sybase as a Database company. Oh, how wrong you are!

It has been true for many years (probably about 12 at least) that Sybase does a lot more and this is evenmore so over the last 5 years, as we become lndustry leader in delivering Enterprise and Mobile software. Though it must be said that Sybase has never taken its 'eye off the ball' of its original core area.

So, it is great for me to to report to you today, that a new report from Forrester Research positions Sybase as a Leader in the Enterprise Database Management Space.

According to Forrester Research, “Sybase has been especially strong in the financial sector, supporting critical applications where reliability, robustness, and availability are top requirements… The company remains committed to Sybase ASE; it has extended its features to support column level encryption, shared disk clustering and XML.” The full Forrester report can be obtained here.
