CA CEO to Step Down
He’ll leave the CA board as well
Sep. 2, 2009 04:15 PM
CA CEO John Swainson, the IBMer brought in five years ago in the aftermath of the $2 billion stock fraud that ultimately sent one of his predecessors to a federal pokey for a 12-year hitch, wants to retire by the end of year, if not before.
CA's board is now looking for a replacement. As soon as they find someone Swainson, 55, says he's out of there.
He'll leave the CA board as well.
Meanwhile, the board has named its non-executive chairman Bill McCracken, another ex-IBMer, the company's interim executive chairman to help with the transition.
