Supporting the OpenNebula Cloud Ecosystem
New OpenNebula Site with Support for the Community

OpenNebula Session at Cloud Expo

The OpenNebula open source project has just released a new web site. This is not only a new look for opennebula.org but a whole new site for the community, a new place to share resources, contribute developments and discuss about components and solutions around OpenNebula.

In the last years, many projects, research groups and companies have built new virtualization and cloud components to complement and to enhance the functionality provided by OpenNebula. In response to this growth, the OpenNebula Ecosystem has been established to:

  • Introduce the tools and extensions that complement the functionality provided by OpenNebula
  • Bring visibility to the innovations of the OpenNebula Ecosystem
  • Provide a catalog of components in the ecosystem to help integrate with OpenNebula
  • Offer support and resources demanded by cloud integrators and developers
  • Exchange news, updates and opinions about OpenNebula and its ecosystem

The components in the ecosystem catalog enhance the functionality provided by the OpenNebula Cloud Toolkit or enable its integration with existing products, services and management tools in the virtualization, cloud and data center ecosystems. Examples of components are:
  • Deltacloud Driver: OpenNebula driver for RedHat Deltacloud using the OGF OCCI API
  • Haizea: Open-source virtual machine-based lease management architecture
  • Cloud Management Console: A clean web interface for OpenNebula
  • Virtual Cluster Tool: Wrapper and a set of modified drivers for OpenNebula which adds support for atomic virtual cluster management with versioning and multiple transport protocols

The catalog will continue to be updated as new and updated extensions, tools and plug-ins become available.
