PBDelta 5.1
8/28 - PBDR released version 5.1 of PBDelta. The new version has a number of enhancements and fixes a number of minor bugs.

PBDelta was recently updated from v4 to v5 and features many productivity improvements and greater accuracy of results. You can download a free trial of PBDelta v5.1 from the PBDR Web site (www.pbdr.com). PBDR also added a new tip on side-by-side DLL deployments (www.pbdr.com/ostips/dllside.htm) and a dropdown multiselector component (www.pbdr.com/software/comp/controls.htm).

Coolbar/CoolMenu
8/29 - Aart Onkenhout released updates to Coolbar and CoolMenu. In CoolBar, changes were made to u_toolbar functions to add images. The method to set the correct size for the imagelist was changed and a function was added to n_srv_toolbar and u_toolbar to show or hide buttons. The loading of some stockimages was fixed on n_cst_image and a function added to n_srv_toolbar and u_toolbar to set buttonspacing. In CoolMenu, the calling of_Set2K3Gradient was corrected, and an issue when using resourcefile in n_coolmenu was addressed. A function was added to set color and text characteristics (bold, italic, underlined) for individual menuitems.

Miqui introduced a couple of new utilities: PBXmlDoc is a code documentation tool for PowerBuilder, which is strictly integrated with PBintelli; PBWimage is a library for image manipulation. It is a useful tool for graphical image format conversion.

9/27 - iAnywhere, a subsidiary of Sybase, announced plans to support Palm, Inc.'s future line of Microsoft Windows Mobile-based Treo smartphones, the first of which is scheduled to be available to Verizon Wireless customers in early 2006. Windows Mobile devices, such as the upcoming line of Treo smartphones, combined with Sybase iAnywhere mobile technology, enable companies to effectively manage and move critical data and content from the data center out to the front lines of business and back.

9/27 - iAnywhere, a subsidiary of Sybase, announced the launch of a new Web-based resource center for RFID developers. The site can be accessed from www.ianywhere.com/rfid and aims to deliver the software, tools, and educational content necessary to advance RFID development capabilities in the market and bring them to the mainstream.

9/27 - iAnywhere, a subsidiary of Sybase, announced the release of RFID Anywhere 2.0, the next generation of the company's software platform that provides an extensible environment for developing and managing robust, highly distributed radio frequency identification (RFID) solutions. Today the company also announced an RFID Anywhere Developer Program that provides developer versions of the software, comprehensive support materials, and general RFID educational content to customers, partners, and prospects.

9/27 - Sybase unveiled the Carrier Edition of its dynamic Web content mobilization data service offering, Sybase mFolio. In addition to enhancing access to regular HTML and RSS-based content from the Web, the Carrier Edition of mFolio now delivers features that enable wireless subscribers to access audio and video podcasts, photo sharing sites, and program customizable requests for content update alerts. Sybase mFolio Carrier Edition supports any Web-based or WAP-enabled feature phone, smartphone, or PDA currently available on the market.

Eclipse Data Tools Platform
8/29 - The Eclipse Foundation, an open source community committed to the development of a universal development platform, and Sybase announced approval of the new Data Tools Platform (DTP) project proposal. Submitted by Sybase in February, the DTP project will provide a comprehensive set of data management frameworks and a representative suite of data management tools, which are essential for data-centric application development.

9/19 - Sybase announced that Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and Sybase IQ customers - including Citadel, comScore Networks, GuangDong Telecom Co.Ltd., Health Insurance Review Agency, and Nielsen Media Research - received a total of 26 Winter Corp. 2005 TopTen awards. Of the 26 awards received by Sybase customers, 18 were in the DSS category and eight were in the OLTP category.

ASE 15.0
9/12 - Sybase announced the latest version of its enterprise-class relational database management system, Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15. Sybase ASE has established itself as one of a cost-effective data management platform for business-critical computing, and builds on that reputation with key enhancements that give IT managers an operational advantage. Sybase ASE 15 includes patented query processing technology that has shown increased performance and reduced hardware resource consumption. In addition, it provides enhanced query performance through the use of smart partitions, which target just the information required.

Charles River IMS
9/27 - Sybase announced a partnership that provides investment managers with the option to leverage the Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise data management platform when deploying the Charles River Investment Management System (Charles River IMS). Through the partnership, Charles River, a provider of financial software and consulting services to the global investment management community, will develop its software suite on Sybase ASE. The Charles River IMS suite provides capabilities for "what if analysis" and portfolio rebalancing straight through to electronic order execution and trade settlement.
