GT Software, a provider of rapid service-oriented architecture (SOA) development for the mainframe environment, and AmberPoint, a provider of SOA runtime governance software, announced an integration of their software solutions. The combination of AmberPoint and GT Software will help organizations building and deploying services-oriented systems to implement reliable, mainframe-based business services. AmberPoint and GT Software also announced a sales and marketing partnership that will help them bring their integrated solutions to market.
AmberPoint provides the management layer that is critical for realizing the return on investment from distributed, heterogeneous service-oriented systems. AmberPoint’s solutions provide comprehensive management and security capabilities without requiring any changes to the services themselves.
GT Software’s Ivory solution secures the mainframe's position as an active participant in an SOA by enabling the deployment of mainframe-based business services that fuel enterprise initiatives. Mainframe developers can graphically orchestrate mainframe transaction, application, data, and web services into multi-step, multi-operation business services with no formal training or consulting required.
“GT Software is championing the role of mainframe development in an enterprise SOA,” said Gary Rinedollar, vice president of Business Development at AmberPoint. “Combining the strengths of our solutions gives enterprise customers the most robust management and analysis toolset for developing reliable, enterprise-class systems based on service oriented architecture.”
“Organizations looking to SOA for business-critical use must consider how they can govern the business services that comprise their applications," said Rob Morris, SVP Marketing and Strategy at GT Software. "Our partnership with AmberPoint will make it much simpler for our shared customers to gain additional value from mainframe-based business services and ensure the reliability and quality of service across the enterprise SOA."
