Jennifer S. LeBlanc To Restructure Financial Management And Reporting Systems

Internet America, Inc., a Dallas-based provider of Internet access services, yesterday announced that Jennifer S. LeBlanc, CPA has been named Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer of the company.
LeBlanc previously held audit management positions with PKF of Texas and PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. Prior to that, she was Director of Finance for a unit of National Data Corporation.
Billy Ladin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Internet America, said, "We are very excited to have an experienced financial manager such as Jennifer joining our team. Over the past few months, Jennifer, in a consulting role with us, has been leading the restructuring of our financial management and reporting systems to accommodate our continued focus on our wireless Internet access business."
The company also announced that it will relocate its corporate headquarters to Houston from Dallas, Texas and will consolidate some of its operations there. The company expects the relocation to be completed in approximately two months. Certain operations are expected to remain in Dallas. The company expects to incur charges in 2006 totaling approximately $130,000 for severance payments to impacted staff and other related relocation costs.
Glen Blackmon, President and COO of the company, explained that, "As we continue to focus on our wireless Internet access business, we believe that our other business lines can be better served by relocating some to Houston while leaving others in Dallas. In particular, our dial-up Internet access call center will remain in Dallas where we have a well-trained staff capable of maintaining that business segment."
