MonsterHosting.ca, a Canadian web hosting and e-commerce solutions provider, introduced its new SHOUTcast web hosting service, aimed at tapping into a growing number of organizations utilizing the technology to reach their customers.
SHOUTCast, developed by AOL’s Nullsoft, is a streaming audio and video technology with roughly 130 million listeners each month.
“Businesses are looking for new tools they can use to communicate with their customers. In 2005 we saw an explosion of blogs, and in 2006, we’re looking forward to rapid growth of new media, namely audio and video streaming technologies, such as SHOUTCast,” said Lisa Jones, MonsterHosting.ca President.
MonsterHosting,ca will provide its customers with a fully-manageable control panel to administrate their SHOUTCast account. In addition, a custom-developed order wizard was implemented to allow users to create their own hosting plans.
“In classic MonsterHosting style, we decided that the best way to provide SHOUTCast was to give our customers the option to buy exactly what they need, and nothing more,” said Jones. “We were also able to add in the functionality for users to purchase personal web space on a separate server. Users can also add station liners, which are short clips used to brand radio stations,” she said.
SHOUTCast web hosting plans start at $5.95/mo USD or $6.95/mo CAD. The company is also working on a reseller model for the service.
