Britain's Top Five Favourite Apples

When it comes to snacking on apples, Golden Delicious are the British favourite, with almost a quarter of us preferring them over other varieties, as revealed in a recent survey by, Fruitdrop, the fresh fruit delivery company. This is particularly true of men, with 29% partial to a Golden Delicious apple, known for its sweeter flavour, whereas women favour Braeburn (23%).
Granny smith apples are a close second, with 21% of us enjoying this variety most. As one medium apple counts as one of our government recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables per day, snacking on a daily apple can be a healthy habit for Brits.
