Industry News Desk DMTF Releases OVF 2.0
DMTF describes OVF as one of the most popular and widely adopted standards in the IaaS space

The Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) Tuesday morning released version 2.0 of its ISO-recognized Open Virtualization Format (OVF) standard that enhances the packaging format for virtual appliances. The revised standard now applies to emerging cloud use cases and includes enhancements for network configuration support. It also provides important developments from OVF 1.0 including improved network configuration support; package encryption capabilities for safe delivery; and scaling and deployment options.
DMTF describes OVF as one of the most popular and widely adopted standards in the IaaS space. As cloud computing continues to gain traction in the industry, it says, the updated standard will provide improved capabilities for virtualization, physical computers and cloud use cases - benefitting both end users and cloud service providers.
