'Quest is proud to have the opportunity to build on the company's long and successful infrastructure management history with the Army,' said Paul Garver (pictured), vice president of Quest Software Public Sector, as Quest Software Inc. this week announced that the company has been selected to provide Windows infrastructure management solutions for the U.S. Army in a limited enterprise agreement awarded as part of the Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Software Initiative.
"Quest's solutions will provide the Army with tools to simplify infrastructure management and drive cost and business efficiency benefits for the organization," Garver added.
Several Quest products will be used as part of the solution, he explained. Quest Reporter will be used for ongoing operations management reporting on Active Directory domains. Quest ActiveRoles Direct will be used to streamline user administration in Active Directory through role-based delegation. Quest migration products will be used to reduce the cost and effort involved in the process of migrating to Active Directory.
The three-year limited enterprise agreement, Garver confirmed, is valued at $4M. As part of the agreement, Quest will implement a solution designed to simplify infrastructure management to help reduce software, hardware and management costs; automate deployment and administration to reduce disruption to end users and mitigate risk; and secure the Army's Windows infrastructure.
