How about if we spelt AJAX differently, asked Håkon Wium Lie (pictured right), at AJAXWorld Conference & Expo, so that the fundamental role played by CSS was incorporated and immortalized?

In a lively session entitled "Why Browsers (Still) Matter," Lie offered the audience a variety of tongue-in-cheek alternatives, including 'AJACX.' 

Known as "The Father of CSS," he proposed the concept of Cascading Style Sheets in 1994. He has worked for, among others, the W3C, INRIA, CERN, the MIT Media Lab and Norwegian telecom research in Televerket, but since 1999 he has been CTO of browser pioneer Opera Software.
