LogLogic Open Log Services Power First SOA For Log Management
Streamlines IT And Compliance Process Automation

LogLogic unveiled Open Log Services for log management and intelligence -- a services-oriented architecture (SOA) being adopted by Enterprise customers to deliver the near-seamless integration of log management and intelligence (LMI) and business workflow. This enables enterprises to respond more nimbly to market opportunities and regulatory mandates.

Each day, thousands of disparate Enterprise IT systems and applications generate billions of log messages, creating a fingerprint of user and business activity. An audit trail based on these volumes of log data is critical to validating IT operations and meeting IT governance objectives. The return on investment and benefits of log management are highest when log-related information is integrated with other applications.

"Log data is essential business information, but is usually overlooked. Treating it as an enterprise class data service will create new opportunities for compliance, governance and risk officers," said James Governor, Principal Analyst at advisory firm RedMonk, "LogLogic's SOA is designed to make log data pervasive, useful and strategic to businesses."

"Web services allow for the quick and easy creation of multiple views of log data whereby the forensic expert, HR employee, auditor and administrator each see different versions of the same information honed for their needs. By coupling log management with policy, configuration and identity management, compliance or process dashboards can be built in just days. By further integrating log data with trouble tickets and directory systems, an automated workflow compares service level agreements and IT controls to actual activities," said Dominique Levin, Vice-President of Product Management and Business Development at LogLogic.

LogLogic's three primary product lines LogLogic LX appliances, LogLogic ST appliances and LogLogic Compliance and Control Suites use Open Log Services to provide greater business agility and productivity through ease-of integration and the reuse of software components and applications. This architecture represents the industry's most comprehensive log management platform for addressing the entire log lifecycle, spanning the collection, processing, indexing, reporting, alerting and, and importantly, the sharing of log data. Users can now build and run their custom-written applications, such as compliance portals, web-based workflow processes and change management applications, easily integrating LMI into the fabric of their IT operations.
