Oracle Extends PeopleSoft Tender

At press time, a few hours after PeopleSoft met with Wall Street, Oracle - claiming that "PeopleSoft's plans means confusion and execution risk for customers and shareholders" - extended its hostile bid for the company for the fourth time. The tender deadline has now been moved to October 17 from September 19. Oracle is still trying to get the Justice Department's okay. PeopleSoft CEO Craig Conway reiterated to Wall Street that he didn't think Oracle was a live issue.
