Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Object Insight Announces Support for All Nine UML Diagrams and Robustness Analysis in JVISION 2.1 Build 15
Object Insight Announces Support for All Nine UML Diagrams and Robustness Analysis in JVISION 2.1 Build 15

(Ann Arbor, MI) - Object Insight has announced the release of JVISION 2.1 Build 15 which supports the following UML Model diagrams: Use Case, Class, Robustness, Sequence, Package, State, Activity, Collaboration, Component and Deployment diagrams. Continuing Object Insight's "UML for the rest of us" philosophy, this release extends the features for actively involving every team member.

With most modeling tools an analyst guru takes notes on paper, goes away to create a model, and comes back to find disagreements about what had been said in previous meetings. However, with the latest release of JVISION, even nontechnical business people can easily employ Use Case and other diagrams to "model on the fly" during a brainstorming meeting. At the end of the meeting, JVISION's one-click Documentor HTML export produces a "Web site" of diagrams documenting the discussion. The group validates data as it is collected, and at the end of the meeting everyone has access to an HTML export.

The JVISION Documentor, HTML export functionality, now also works with each of the new diagrams supported. Any diagram element can include links to detailed annotations and hyperlinks can be easily added to any other diagram or URL. This exported "Web site" automatically includes a tree view for navigating through the diagrams. In addition, questions and important discussion items can be saved in the proper context within the structure of the exported model. Also new with v2.1 Build 15 is support for command line operations to automate the Documentor HTML. Thus all of your diagrams and JavaDoc integration can be updated effortlessly. The latest Quick Start Guide online at www.object-insight.com/jresources/help/ was created using the JVISION Documentor.

The goal of JVISION's design continues to be the creation of tools that focus on offering the greatest productivity in the shortest period of time, increasing the likelihood that people will do the modeling that is so important to the ultimate success of any software development project, or for that matter, business process reengineering.

JVISION supports round trip engineering for Java and runs on Windows, Linux, and Sun Solaris. A fully functional 30-day evaluation can be downloaded from the Object Insight Web site.
