IBM has just launched its "Web services Demos", a collection of Web services examples built with IBM technologies on IBM developerWorks. The "Web services Demos" collection demonstrates how Web services can be used in applications. Developers are provided with complete Web services examples including code, tools, and documentation to help them build Web services projects. Each demo includes a GUI hosted on developerWorks to help users observe Web services in action; detailed documentation on the design, creation, and deployment of the Web service; and the actual source code used to implement the demo. "Web services Demos" also provide links to free trial versions of IBM tools and middleware used to build and deploy the demos. The collection will be updated frequently. The initial offerings include the following Web services demos which were built using WebSphere* and Data Management* technologies: Video Central - A fictitious video rental store service providing online rental services for video stores and its customers. This demo was created with WebSphere Studio software development tools and deployed on WebSphere Internet infrastructure software and DB2 database software. Weather Report - Weather forecasts obtained via SOAP messages from the National Weather Service. This demo was also created with WebSphere Studio tools and deployed on WebSphere.
