Ubiquity to Deliver Carrier-Grade, SIP-Based Solutions to Service Providers Globally with IBM

(June 4, 2003) - Ubiquity, a developer of SIP-based communications software for service providers, has agreed to supply IBM with its SIP Application Server and Speak Conference Director, which, together with IBM's carrier-class hardware and software technologies, the parties plan to deliver to service providers globally. The offering will help service providers quickly deploy IP-based, revenue generating communications services to their customers. The agreement is the culmination of a series of interoperability and sales and marketing initiatives between the two companies. Ubiquity, an advanced member of the IBM PartnerWorld for Developers program and has recently joined the IBM Service Provider Delivery Environment (SPDETM) Global Partner Network (GPN) which provides a multi-vendor open architecture for service provider networks. Speak Conference Director utilizes IBM eServer xSeries systems, IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM DB2 Universal Database. Speak has recently been validated in IBM's Linux Service Provider Lab (LSPL), one of the first telecommunications application to be demonstrated on carrier-grade Linux with IBM's WebSphere Application Server and IBM eServer xSeries systems.
