BackWeb Technologies has announced that its BackWeb Offline Access Server has successfully completed BEAs Validation Program and is now verified to integrate with BEA WebLogic Platform 8.1. Larry Aronovitz, director of Worldwide Partner Programs with BEA, explained that BEAs validation program is "designed to help accelerate adoption of partners' solutions and market opportunities by helping to assure customers that these partners' technologies are verified to integrate with BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform." He added, "BackWeb is an important partner of BEA, providing a solution designed to help BEA customers more easily and cost-effectively mobilize, or offline enable, BEA portals...We're pleased BackWeb has taken the extra step to validate BackWeb Offline Access Server with BEA Enterprise Platform." Through the efforts of BEA and BackWeb, thin-client solutions can be offered that allow developers to extend portal application for offline use without altering the way they work. Customers have a way to access mobile, disconnected use of Web applications to increase, for example, sales and field services. Bill Heye, vice president of Business Development and Product Management at BackWeb, said, "By integrating the BackWeb Offline Access Server with the WebLogic Portal and the WebLogic Workshop, we can help companies make applications even more useful to employees in the field where mobility is their key to success." The validation program of Offline Access Server also ensures that Java controls and integrated development environments (IDE) function in BEA WebLogic.
