WebLogic News Desk Heading East: WebLogic Server Process Edition 8.1
The release of WebLogic 8.1, says BEA, provides a single platform

Edition 8.1 of WebLogic Server Process is expected to greatly accelerate the creation of composite service-oriented applications, transforming existing infrastructures. The key to creating IT organizations that are vital and dynamic, many analysts and developers feel, rests in being able to take existing systems, retool them as composite applications, and redeploy these new hybrid creations across various applications. Diyaa Zebian, BEA's regional manager for Egypt and the Middle East, said, "IT organizations need a consistent and cost-effective way to interact with various application silos, orchestrate these into composite applications and expose the new functionality as reusable services." He added that the latest WebLogic release was built with this in mind. "The WebLogic Server Process Edition 8.1 was developed to meet these needs. We anticipate a strong demand for this solution in the Middle East where businesses are keen to adopt newer systems." With WebLogic 8.1, development and runtime frameworks have been brought together to create, orchestrate, monitor, and also, consume services. With this kind of flexibility extended throughout the entire length of IT departments, organizations will be able to respond swiftly to changing needs in business. "BEA WebLogic Server Process Edition provides the tools essential to effectively service-enable a company's existing resources, treats composite services using process-driven development and extends these services to interact with other applications and technologies," Zebian said. Additionally, it offers real-time visibility into service status along with archives of historical data, thus increasing business agility and response times. It is hoped that with these innovations, any service built using WebLogic 8.1 is just a step away from being deployed into a Web or portal application. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
