10/29/2007 - Sybase announced new Microsoft .NET Framework-based enhancements to Sybase PowerBuilder 11, the premier 4GL rapid application development (RAD) tool, and DataWindow.NET 2.5, a powerful component for .NET Framework-based environments that simplifies and accelerates the creation of data-driven applications. New features for PowerBuilder include Windows Vista support, .NET Framework incremental compile capabilities, and database driver enhancements. DataWindow .NET 2.5 has been extended so developers can use Web Services as a data source, TreeView presentation styles, and integration of the design-time environment into the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 development environment. New features include:

Third-Quarter Financial Results
10/25/2007 - Sybase reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2007. Total revenue increased 22% and license revenue up 12% year-over-year. Total database license revenues increased 18% year-over-year. Total iAnywhere revenues were up 10% and license revenues up 16% year-over-year. Non-GAAP operating income was up 40% year-over-year, and the non-GAAP operating margin was 22%. The GAAP operating income was up 39% year-over-year. The GAAP operating margin was 17%. Non-GAAP earnings were 47 cents a share; GAAP earnings were 37 cents. Management raises full-year non-GAAP earnings to $1.64-$1.66 and GAAP earnings to $1.25-$1.27. Full-year cash flow guidance was raised to approximately $210 million.

10/23/2007 - Sybase iAnywhere announced that in a recent report, Worldwide Mobile Device Management Enterprise 2007-2011 Forecast and 2006 Vendor Shares (IDC # 208771, October 2007), IDC recognized Sybase and its iAnywhere subsidiary as the leader in mobile device management enterprise software with higher revenues and market share in a top 15 list that covers more than three-fourths of the market and is dominated by large systems management vendors, mobility companies, and smaller pure-play MDM vendors.

Secure E-mail for the iPhone
10/23/2007 - Sybase iAnywhere announced that it will support Apple iPhone with its Information Anywhere suite. Information Anywhere will enable IT organizations to provide secure delivery of Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange enterprise e-mail to iPhone users. Sybase's approach to providing enterprise support for the iPhone should reduce potential security concerns while still providing a rich user experience using the native iPhone mail application.

MMS Message Delivery
10/23/2007 - Sybase 365, a Sybase subsidiary, says MMS message delivery has increased for 11 consecutive quarters in the U.S, the number of domestic MMS messages processed by the company increased by 19.5%, the month-over-month average growth the first nine months of '07 is 7.4%. By the end of 2007, Sybase 365 will have processed over a billion MMS messages since it launched the service in 2005.
According to M:Metrics, MMS messaging is most popular with young adults. From June-August 2007, 36% of consumers aged 18-24 years, 27.2% of 13-17 year-olds, and 26.9% of subscribers aged 25-34 sent MMS messages.
