SOA Software (formerly known as Digital Evolution) has been named one of Gartner's "Cool Vendors in Web Services" in a recent report that highlights vendors in the Web services market that merit this accolade "for their interesting and innovative products and services, the company reports.

"We're working along side our enterprise customers providing real solutions to the challenges of adopting an SOA and allowing them to quickly reap the enormous cost-saving benefits of Web services," said SOA Software's Chairman and Founder Eric Pulier in an official statement.

SOA Software's SOA Fabric product suite addresses both Enterprise SOA and B2B Web services requirements, the company says. Its Service ManagerT, Registry and XML VPN products provide security, management, provisioning and governance for enterprise and B2B SOA deployments. Service Manager also has what the company calls the industry's first registry-based Web services dashboard, providing real-time alerts and visual indicators such as live charts and color-coded graphs.

"Enterprise customers can monitor service-level agreements, security incidents and vital performance metrics, dramatically improving the ability to discover, manage and troubleshoot Web services," the company reported.

Gartner's selection process for "cool vendors" does not constitute an extensive list of vendors in any given technology area, but rather is designed to highlight interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services.
