ZSL Launches Enterprise 2.0 Computing Framework Built on IBM WebSphere sMash
Computing Framework Targets Mid to Large Enterprises

ZSL announced its Enterprise 2.0 Computing Framework built on IBM WebSphere sMash and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

ZSL's new Enterprise 2.0 computing framework offerings will enable businesses to protect core legacy system investments while leveraging cutting-edge tools and development languages to streamline programming, processing, enhancements, and integration of new applications.

ZSL's R&D division, the IDEA (Innovative Development of Enterprise Applications) Lab, develops and prototypes solutions around Enterprise 2.0 computing platforms for demanding business requirements. The Enterprise 2.0 Computing framework is far ahead in improving cross-organizational collaboration than the current enterprise-oriented communication and collaboration tools. ZSL's Service Orientation and Composite development methodologies help to solve the complex enterprise application architecture and integration issues.

"ZSL's Enterprise 2.0 Computing Framework built with IBM's newest Web 2.0 technology extends the reach of SOA and will enable our customers to effectively use the web as their SOA platform," said Mr. Sudarshan Venkatraman, Chairman and CEO of ZSL. "Our Enterprise 2.0 Computing Framework provides a pragmatic approach to deliver the promise of Web 2.0 and SOA to meet true Service Oriented Enterprise requirements in a fundamentally different and more cost-effective way."

ZSL is an early adopter of IBM's recently announced WebSphere sMash, a dynamic Web application platform. Using sMash, companies like ZSL can deliver dynamic Web 2.0 based applications from pre-existing assets, such as PHP assets, Java assets, services, feeds and code snippets. IBM has captured a major market share in Web App Server, Messaging, Portal and eCommerce space globally because of its flagship product suite WebSphere.

One of ZSL's first Enterprise 2.0 initiatives is the Enterprise SocNet framework which is built on WebSphere sMash. The SocNet framework will enable businesses to implement secured social networking features at the enterprise level faster and simpler. It is estimated that Enterprise spending on Web 2.0 technologies will surge over the next five years, reaching $764 million in 2008 and growing at a 43% compound annual growth rate to reach $4.6 billion globally in 2013, despite a future marked by commoditization, according to Forrester Research.

Enterprise 2.0 Computing Framework is primarily targeting Mid to Large Enterprises worldwide. However, the sub-components could be implemented as modules and lay the foundation for the full scale SOA.
