Said President Dr. Victor Whizar-Lugo: "On behalf of the Federacion Mexicana de Colegios de Anestesiologia, I
want to thank you for your brilliant participation at our LXII Congreso
Mexicana de Anestesiologia held in Your lectures as well as your activities in the OR were superb and many of the attendees were very satisfied with the new i.v. anesthesia technique that you used with two Mexican patients." Friedberg is the author and editor of the landmark textbook, Anesthesia in Cosmetic Surgery. Among his goals is the empowerment of patients to ask for the safer, simpler and better anesthesia for elective cosmetic surgery; namely 'Goldilocks' anesthesia -- that which is neither too much, nor too little but just right; and, whenever possible, to avoid exposure to the unnecessary risks of inhalational agents for this type of surgery. Inhalational anesthesia with drugs like isoflurane, desflurane or sevoflurane, says Friedberg, have been shown to be inflammatory while propofol, the main drug in 'Goldilocks' anesthesia, is known to be an anti-oxidant.
