BBE (formerly Broadband Enterprises Inc.) has announced that Matt Timothy, former Vice President of Streaming Media at CBS, has joined BBE as Senior Vice President of Technology Sales. Timothy, whose twelve-year career in digital media includes stints with CBS, Paramount Television, Ziff Davis and most recently, as SVP at National Cable Communications, will head the BBE team responsible for sales and development of its CDE and Vindico ad server and content distribution platforms, and will be based in New York City. In addition to his time at large media corporations, Timothy was a co-founder of Funnel Networks, a media analytics company that focused exclusively on pharmaceutical advertisers. Funnel pioneered ways to use patient behavior data to measure ad effectiveness and provide detailed ROI on pharmaceutical advertising. “Matt has been a pioneer and visionary in the areas of developing platforms for effectively delivering digital ad content and then measuring its effectiveness on target audiences. His knowledge of and successful track record in the space make him a perfect fit to head our technology sales and development team at BBE,” said Matt Wasserlauf, CEO of BBE. “We’re delighted to have him onboard.” “I'm thrilled to be heading up the next chapter of BBE’s unique and powerful story. We are leaders in the sales and programming of the emerging digital video space. Vindico and CDE were not built in a theoretical cocoon; they've been built from the ground up to address the specific, real world needs of digital advertisers and publishers. It’s an honor to be here,” Timothy noted. Timothy, 44, holds a B.A. in Social Science from Hofstra University and lives on Long Island with his wife and three children. About BBE BBE (Broadband Enterprises Inc.) is the digital video authority with over 2,200 publisher websites and more than 150 premium brand advertisers. The video network is BBE’s core business on which three additional businesses have been established. First, BBE syndicates content across the network with partners such as Comcast, iVillage, MSNBC, Washington Post-Newsweek Interactive and others. Finally, BBE has two proprietary technology products: Vindico, a Campaign Management System which provides full control over the deployment, assignment, scheduling and optimization of video; and CDE, Contextual Distribution Engine, which affords publishers and content providers the opportunity to create increasing amounts of video inventory. BBE is based in New York City.
