AMD's Quarter Sours
Demand is weaker than expected
Dec. 4, 2008 10:55 AM
AMD sent out a short sharp message Thursday morning saying that the way things are going it expects revenues from continuing operations this quarter to be ~25% lower than they were last quarter and that was only $1.585 billion.
Its calculations do not include process technology license revenue.
It said demand is weaker than expected "across all geographies and businesses, particularly in the consumer market."
AMD's current quarter ends December 27 and it expects to post the results on January 22.
Intel already cut its Q4 guidance.
