Funambol is ensuring that its open source mobile sync server works with the new Android client. The open source client and server software enable Android handsets to sync contacts, calendars, pictures, music and videos with any backend data source and desktop.

a la Mobile began development with the Funambol Android client in August 2008, enhancing it to provide improved sync functionality with additional PIM data including contacts, calendars, pictures, music and video. The company has made the code available to the Funambol community. a la Mobile offers the enhanced sync client in its commercial Android system solution for mobile operators and device manufacturers.
