SavaJe Technologies, developer of Java technology-based mobile operating platform, announced the SavaJe Mobile Java Experience Partner Program that is designed to help mobile application developers accelerate the deployment of compelling Java applications for mobile devices worldwide.
SavaJe offers developers the most advanced mobile platform supporting an early access version of JSR-209 specifications, which enable developers to create more complex and sophisticated Java applications that are tightly integrated with phone functions and the overall user experience.
The SavaJe Mobile Java Experience Partner Program provides third party partners, including mobile application developers, with access to SavaJe development tools, documentation and technical support, as well as early access to new mobile devices running the SavaJe Mobile Platform. Initial partners include market leading mobile application developers, such as Action Engine, beeweeb, CCC Group, JumpTap, Mexuar, SurfKitchen and V-ENABLE.
At JavaOne, SavaJe will demonstrate and sell a limited number of the first commercially available mobile device based on the SavaJe Mobile Platform -- the Jasper S20, a feature phone that is manufactured by Group Sense PDA Limited and will ship this summer in Asian markets. SavaJe platform experts will be available during JavaOne for development advice and Sun Microsystems will be offering related tools such as the new NetBeans toolkit featuring support for CDC.
"Increasingly, differentiation in the mobile market is being defined by the quality of the user experience and compelling applications," said J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D., an analyst with MobileTrax. "SavaJe has now delivered all the critical components to address this market demand -- a commercially-available, highly-customizable mobile platform, support for the latest Java technology to bring advanced graphics and user interfaces of enterprise and desktop Java applications to the mobile world, and now partnerships with some of the most innovative mobile application developers."
