Google announced the acquisition of Endoxon, an Internet mapping solutions company based in Lucerne, Switzerland. Google acquired three of Endoxon’s six business units - internet, mapping and data processing business units. The Endoxon units that Google didn’t acquire will continue to operate as part of a new company called Mappuls AG.

Endoxon is a developer of internet mapping solutions, mobile services, data processing, cartography, direct marketing and the Trinity software suite. Endoxon is a pioneer in AJAX mapping technologies. Endoxon technologies enable the integration and processing of geo-referenced data and high-resolution aerial and satellite images for dynamic internet and mobile services.

Google said the acquisition of Endoxon will enable them to leverage their analysis capabilities and will help them build out and improve the functionality of Google Earth and Google Maps across Europe.
